Angel walked down the long winding halls of her castle, listening to her footsteps as they echoed arounf her. The Castle was large, but empty. Ever since her parents had died the castle had seemed empty to her, with no one but the Royal guards and herself occupying it. She had no siblings and no family to share the fortune with.
As she looked up she found herself in the library, having not payed much attention to where she was going it was a bit of a shock to see so many shelves around her. Glancing around her eye caught the reflection of light on a pane of glass, she walked over to the cabinet and stopped infront of it, looking down upon the leather bound book inside.
She had never looked at the book, when she was a child she had been forbidden to even touch the glass that surrounded it. Powerful magic was projected off from the book and the glass, magic that allowed no one but the current Riegning king or Queen to touch it.
Even when her parents had passed away she had avoided the book, unsure whether the right to touch it was hers or not, but now, the book seemed to be calling to her, begging to be read.
She touched the padlock gently, and it sprang open, seeming to recognise her touch. Lifting the glass top of slowly she found herself staring at the book. Placing the top down at the side she reached in and lifted the book from the stand, her fingers running across the powerful leather casing.
A comfy chair seemed to appear out of no where behind her as she sat down, placing the book gently in her lap and opening it.
Upon the first page there was a family tree, with pictures of each member of the family. As she looked down all the pictures were grey and still, apart from hers and one other.
She looked upon the face of her great great great aunt, looking at the similarity to her own picture. It was almost as if they were the same, everything about them changed, but as she watched her aunts picture changed, her hair turning from the light blonde to a black as dark as the nights sky, her skin turning to pale it could blend into snow, elongated fangs showed through, and Angel realised why it was still in color, the woman was not dead.
She turned the page, finding the book held history of each member of the family and she began to read, losing herself in the book.
After a few hours she found herself on Tara's page, she managed to read the first word when the sound of smashing glass was heard somewhere down the other end of the library, she looked up in alarm, sensing someone... or something beginning to near her.
