Claudia skipped happily around Lestats old mansion, it had been a long time since their last visit. She broke free of Louis and began to blow dust off the old furniature, pulling off the dust covers and opening the windows,
"We have returned"
She called out to the streets of London, hearing wimpering in the distance. She sat down at the piano and began to play, a haunting tune that Lestat had taught her called the 'Lament de Morde', banging out the notes until all the living souls arrived for her to feast on.

Louis walked in soon after Claudia, looking around the mansion, filled with splendor and with waste as Lestat had liked it. He could never understand the man's passion for the finer things in life, especially when, as vampires, they could survive in graveyards all their immortal lives. He shook his head and followed the child to the piano.
Hearing her play and invite the living to her feast, he sighed. Though he loved Claudia dearly, he wished she hadn't seemingly inherited Lestat's love of killing and of blood. However, he could hardly change her, and anything he said would just fall on deaf ears. "Claudia, are you really hungry?" he asked her tiredly, flopping down in a chair by the fireplace.

Claudia beamed at her immortal lover and continued to play. She knew he could never truely understand her thirst for blood, she was always hungry, perhaps because of her childlike form,
"Louis darling one, i am always insatiable. But if you do not wish it, i will not feast tonight"
She said, hitting a dull note which echoed around the house, causing the rats and bats to fly out from their hiding places in the walls. She sighed softly and ran her fingers over the notes, thinking of Lestat, deep down she missed him.

Louis gave her a soft smile when she listened to him, though he knew she would find a way to go out later on without his noticing. Sometimes he still couldn't believe how vicious she could be, due to her doll-like form. He shook his head and then placed it in his hand, wondering why they had decided to come back here of all places.
True, his own mansion had been destroyed by fire, but there was always France, and Armand. If he was still alive. He sighed and looked up as Claudia continued to play, seeing a far-off look in her eyes. "Thinking about him will not bring him back," he said a little sadly, though a lot of the time he was glad he had gone.

Claudia sighed and began to play again, another sombre funeral march that had been played on the streets of Paris so many years ago. The song was slow and solemn, tear wrenching to any mortals,
"Just as thinking of Armand will not make him appear. Louis you promised to let the past be"
She warned, noticing his similar look and frowning. The rules applied to both of them not just her and she was willing to remind him of that, for all eternity if needs be.

"I know," Louis said quietly, listening to Claudia play one of her more sober tunes on the piano. His thoughts longed to travel back in time to when she had first been learning to play. How many tutors they had gone through before Lestat had started teaching her himself. He realized he was letting it happen again and pulled himself back to the present, knowing she was right and that he would most likely never seen either of his former loves again. "But is hard to let go of the past when it is so tightly connected to the present," he added after a moment, his thoughts traveling quickly to his brother and then back to the mansion and the circumstances under which they had come to own it. ((ooc: Oooh metaphysical ))

((OOC: Oooh big word ) Claudia sighed and stopped playing again, she just couldn't concentrate when he was being like this. She slid off the piano bench and walked over to him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and laying a childlike kiss on his cheek, " Louis we need to let go of the past. We are immortal, we need to look forward. I miss Lestat too, although i could not agree about Armand. The man almost had me killed, how can you still love him?" She asked, trying to look into his eyes. She sighed and let go again, sliding onto the floor. She lifted up the table cloth that was dragging on the floor and beamed, grabbing one of her favourite dolls from beneath it and hugging her to her chest.

((ooc: *brain explodes*))
Amused at the speed with which Claudia changed her mood, Louis wondered if it was even necessary to answer her question at all. However, he knew that she was still waiting for an answer even if she looked perfectly content right now; that was just the way she was, and having lived with her for so long, he knew that.
"It's hard to explain, Claudia," he said with slight frustration, reaching down and stroking her bright curls gently. "It is like loving one's parents in the way, you just have to. But don't worry, you always come first." He smiled softly and ruffled her hair a little bit before sitting back.

Claudia frowned and threw the doll across the room, her porcelain head smashing on the cold tile floor. She jumped up and kicked off her shoes, flouncing towards her room before turning on her heel and staring down at Louis with disgust,
"I do not want to always come first if it pains you so much. Why don't you just go back to Armand, you would leave me if he beckoned you"
She said angrily, storming into her old room and slamming the door. She threw herself onto the bed, knocking off the vase and lamp from her bedside table, loud crashes and thuds could be heard in the sitting room.

Louis sighed, wishing he could kill Lestat for spoiling Claudia like this. She was so used to getting everything she wanted that she didn't know how to share. She couldn't understand that he could love two people at once and with the same intensity, though he definitely loved her more than Armand. His feelings toward the man had cooled since he had tried to kill Claudia.
He got up quietly and walked slowly to her door, knocking twice, willing to wait forever for her to let him in. "Claudia you know that I would never leave you," he said softly, but loud enough that she would be able to hear him over the crashing sounds she was making.

Claudia stopped crashing around for a moment and walked over to the door. She opened it a little and took a step back, looking as innocent as ever with her teddy bear dangling from her left hand, her curls lying gracefully on her shoulders,
"You already did Louis, you already did"
She repeated slowly, dropping the teddy to the floor and running over to her bed where she flung herself onto the matress.

Louis sighed; they had talked about this before. He had thought she was dead, turned to ashes by the rays of the sun, and was so grief-stricken he had fallen into Armand's arms. If he had only known, he would never have left, and spared themselves all the pain and confusion that came with the separation.
He sat on the edge of the bed, looking at her, not knowing what to say. "I told you I was sorry for that, Claudia. I thought you would believe me."

Claudia pulled her head from the cushions and looked across at Louis who was sat on the bed. She crawled over and knelt beside him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders again and offering him her wrist incase he was hungry,
"I know you would never lie to me Louis. Love holds you to me, as it holds me to you"
She said happily, looking forward into the mirror and wondering why they once again had no reflection. When Lestat had been alive they had been able to admire themselves but now it was as if they were mearly figments of a wild imagination.

Shaking his head as Claudia offered her wrist, Louis said, "And so it shall be forever." He looked into the mirror as well, sighing when he saw no reflection. This had all been Lestat's doing, they used to be able to at least look at themselves after they had been turned, but he had worked his strange immortal magic on the situation and made those old Bram Stoker rules apply to them.
Wondering fleetingly if Lestat had somehow survived and was still watching them, he shook his head. It was impossible. Claudia had poisoned him with those two little boys and then stabbed him, and they together had dumped him into a swamp. No one, not even a vampire, could survive that, could they?

Claudia shook her head lightly, her curls cascading over his shoulders. Occasionally their thoughts collided and they were as one, thinking the same and feeling the same. She sighed and moved across to her bedside table, picking up her hand mirror,
"We drowned him, and we burnt him Louis. He can never return, and he had cursed us"
She said, her fragile voice turning into a shrill shout. She threw the hand mirror to the floor, watching as it smashed into a hundred pieces, she bent and picked up the large centre chunk, watching the lamp reflecting off it.
